Titleholder: John Doe will hold the vehicle's title until Jane Doe's registration with the Department of Public Safety is complete.
Date format should be mm/dd/yyyy if not using a complete date in month-day-year order for consistency's sake, but that is optional and up to personal preference. When filling out a bill of sale, it may help draw a line down the center, so you have one side for the buyer and one side for the seller, but again, it isn't required unless either party wishes to add something.
In this example, Jane Doe purchased a vehicle from John Doe on March 3, 2015, and did not yet have the title in her name. The bill of sale authorizes John Doe to transfer ownership of the motor vehicle to Jane Doe once it is completed, signed by both parties in agreement, and filed with the Department of Public Safety (DPS).
